Description

We are currently looking for a "SYSTEM ARCHITECT" for our customer to hire directly for a multiple locations project in Italy-Turin, Modena, Bologna, and Milan. The Connected Vehicle Team is revolutionizing the vehicle ownership experience through the invention of software products delivered to Uconnect customers through a variety of digital touchpoints including mobile apps, websites, and in-vehicle infotainment systems.

The team is seeking someone with a technical product owner and/or enterprise architecture experience to fulfill the role of Technical Product Owner for the design and documentation of connected services system enablers and features. The ideal candidate is a systems-thinking person who is excited about trending connected vehicle technologies and the ways they are leveraged to capture and delight customers. They will thrive in an environment of innovation that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual should have a passion for understanding and defining the needs and behaviors of customers, and for working with other product owners and key stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into exceptional system components that serve the needs of the users. In this role, your products are the architecture and design of system component identification and function as well as software component interface definition that make up the connected services platform and connected features. Your goal is to design a platform that scales and to accommodate new features and feature evolution over time. Primary Responsibilities:

  • As Technical Product Owner, drive collaborative design of architecture, distribution of function across the eco-system and document the system solution for development of component functionality
  • Support component strategy and articulate the vision and mission of the product roadmap, including implementation and prioritization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop user stories and requirements while evaluating their potential and practicality by analyzing consumer and stakeholder needs.
  • Serve as the central resource with design as the product moves through development
  • Act as user champion when coordinating product development with business stakeholder and align design activity with business goals and priorities.
  • Manage the prioritization and refinement of the design work products while working with the development teams to clarify requirements balancing business needs with technical requirements
  • Determine the appropriate product Release Date and Content
  • Create and maintain communications regarding vision and progress like a product roadmap and release plan.
  • Provide regular reporting including scope, schedule, and planning
  • Take lead on issue resolution for systems in design.
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of software development and the industry for the particular component

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in automotive connected systems enterprise architecture or connected systems engineering role for software-based consumer products
  • Minimum of 5 years of software development in enterprise systems design, development, and operation
  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner or Enterprise Architect in a cross-functional team, dedicated to the complete product development lifecycle of successfully launched enterprise solutions globally deployed
  • Experience capturing and managing software requirements including writing requirements specification
  • Demonstrable knowledge of software development lifecycles and activities
  • Strong leadership and technical skills to lead cross-functional teams and align stakeholders
  • Technical skills including:
  1. Understanding software systems and products
  2. Ability to review designs and ensure they meet best practices
  3. Experience integrating & testing software verifying it meets acceptance criteria
  • Experience with the IBM DOORs and related software development products
  • Demonstrated experience in network communication design: CAN, LIN or Ethernet
  • The desire to be part of, and contribute to, a team with a proven ability to work cross-functionally with designers, coders, integrators and business teams
  • Strong relationship-building skills including the ability to relate constructively to all levels of an organization
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects and tasks judiciously
  • Strong listening, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical addressees
  • Ambition and the ability to be self-directed
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Electrical, computer, information technology or equivalent
  • Experience creating architectural artifacts such as sequence diagrams
  • Experience creating release notes, user documentation, and/or training materials

Demonstrated experience in automotive electrical component design and development (preferably body electrical such as body controller or equivalently complex module), audio or infotainment, chassis electrical systems, powertrain electrical systems, power and signal distribution
