Our German client, a leading worldwide supplier of high performance semiconductor and sensor solutions is in search of a:
Senior Data Scientist for ChemometricsWe are looking for a passionate and experienced Data Analyst. The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.
Task and Responsibilities
- Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Create chemometric models within the NIR-spectroscopy
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Evaluation of use cases bayed on spectral information and relevant signatures Drive modeling, prediction and optimization of our sensor solutions
- Develop multivariate calibration techniques to improve our sensor solutions
- Conduct tests of algorithm
- Establish documentation
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Be an innovator; regularly develop and protect new IP through patent filings
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree in Chemometrics/(Bio-)Informatics /Mathematics/Physics
- Expert in data analysis, algorithm development and statistical analysis (Multivariate analysis, PCA, PLS) with several years of industrial experience.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages (ideally: MATLAB or Python)
- Machine learning and nonlinear optimization skills are highly welcome
- Ideally experience with calibration of camera or spectrometer systems / image processing
- Knowledge of optics, optical science and/or optical sensing is beneficial
- Self-motivated, creative problem solver, to participate in a cross functional development team
- Proficient in English
